In 2018 before the pandemic, L’Oreal acquired an AR technology company to roll out a virtual try-on feature. In May 2020, MAC Cosmetics launched its virtual-try-on feature with YouCam.
Now, Lancôme is creating virtual stores worldwide that use XR technology that will make available a full-scale simulation of physical experiences as an integral part of their e-commerce platform.
