Cross-Border Commerce Europe publishes the first edition of “TOP 20 Fashion Retail Europe 2022”: the annual ranking dedicated to the online Fashion sector, retail’s leading online sector.
The total fashion market in 2021 contains €475B and is expected to grow by 10% by 2025 to €525B. The online part was 25% or €119B in 2021, which will increase to 50% by 2025 to a market share of 33% or €175B. The cross-border online market share is €32B (or 26,8%).
Even further in the future, by 2030, the online share of fashion is expected to be more than 45%. This means there will be a 30% market share shift from offline to online in 15 years. COVID-19 has also boosted this shift, but it seems that after COVID-19, the growth online isn’t going to be as before. An example from Inditex can be found in this report.
