Cross-Border Sustainable marketplaces Report

The objective of this study is to analyze the sustainability and circularity strategies of the TOP 100 Cross-Border Marketplaces operating in Europe. Several indicators have been designed from the analysis of the functioning of a marketplace. These indicators are used to assess each marketplace.

On a high-level we will focus on UN Sustainable development Goals 1: (12) Responsible Consumption and Production and (13) Climate Action, with a focus on consumer goods sold on cross-border B2C and C2C marketplaces in Europe.

The objective of the study is to analyze the principles of sustainable development and design KPIs that capture the sustainability of global marketplaces, leading to a ranking of the TOP 100 cross-border marketplaces selling in Europe ranked by sustainability.
The report emphasizes the interdependence of economic, social and environmental factors and provide the basis for the three-dimensional design of the Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit in 1992.
We selected 10 KPIs with 100 points to assess the sustainability of a marketplace. Each criteria drives a KPI or a group of KPIs that follow a rating system chosen according to its importance:
